Do you let anyone drive your car?

I HAVE AN ACT CLUTCH. I can count the number of people that have driven my car on one hand. My dad, my two best friends, and a friend last night cause I was drinking. WELL let me just tell you how poorly that dude drove my Max. My other friend said he felt like we shoulda been at a headbanging concert for how much his head got jerked around. We didnt stall but I am pretty sure it couldnt have been driven worse. We spun tires everytime he went to start...even when he started in second gear!!!!!!!!!! Jerk, jerk, jerk, every gear. I know it wouldnt have been smart but I know I coulda driven better drunk.

Letting my Max take that kind of a beating, even though it was only for about 2 miles makes me never want to let another person drive my car again.

DO YOU GUYS let people drive your car? Many of my friends are not enthusiasts and they do not understand why I never let people drive my car....maybe they will now.

I let my mother drive it three times only because she gave me her new car (escalade baby!) and I let one of my friends drive it one time because I was drunk and didn't want to kill anyone or get a DUI. One time my brother actually took my car for a short spin without asking me. So only on five occassions have people other than myself drove my car.

haha I witnessed someone telling my friend that he can drive stick... and hopping into his E46 M3 and... you know the story...

some people are just 'drivers' the people who can just drive... aware of their surroundings and just blessed with the skill of piloting a car... even then the Maxima isnt the eaaasiest car to jump into

I figure ... if I dont let people drive my car then its prefect because if anything happens I have no one to blame cept myself

Ummm, that would have to be a negative. I let my Mechanic and myself drive the car, no one else. And he can only drive into the shop, well, sometimes I do that

Not a single person besides me has driven my car since I bought it this summer. My mom wanted to the day I brought it home but I was about to go out and told her I didn't want to have to re-adjust the seat and she could drive it some other time but she hasn't asked again.

I taught my mom and my brother to drive stick on my car. Then my clutch burned out so I ended all lessons.
I have let several friends drive my car also, but I let them drive mine in exchange for a test drive of their car, and I have to be in the front seat while they drive it. There have been 3 friends I think.
1. Friend with Alfa Romeo Milano 5 spd.
2. Friend w/ 96 Ford Aspire 5-spd. He taught me how to drive stick in that car before I got my Max so I felt obligated to let him drive my car and be jealous forever after.
3. Friend w/ modified '91 Mustang GT 5.0 5-spd

I recently let another friend drive my car because he wants to buy a 5 spd Maxima, but this one was a mistake. He likes to keep it in lower gears for some reason. We'll be cruising at a steady 50-55, and he'll just keep it in 3rd, revving at like 3500. After he finally understood to just put it in 5th when cruising at a high speed, he came to a stop sign, forgot it was in 5th, tried to start from a stop in 5th, and stalled obviously. Then he got anxious, peeled out from the stop sign, and then shifted into 2nd w/o the clutch! The sound of that, plus the thought of what just happened within my transmission forced me to the decision that only skilled family members or current Maxima owners will have the chance to drive my car from now on.

My Dad, my best friend, and my little brother - once.

Now that I'm going to be a 5spd, that number will be dropped to 1...mtrai760, because he helped with the tranny install, and already has a 5spd Maxima.
