well, i think it's the actual plastic covering that protects the clock. that plastic kind of looks like its bubbling a little, because i can see it if there is direct sunlight right on it. anyone know a remedy to smoothen the plastic out again, or does anyone have an easy way to replace it? thanks

If it's like that little plastic film that usually covers small displays, then you can just remove it. I think...but don't blame me if you ruin the clock like that. I looked at my Max and I don't see a plastic film over my clock.

The plastic film usually comes on things like calculators, cell phones, or anything with a digital display (game boy, digital camera). It usually bubbles and eventually you have to remove it in order to see the display.

actually....

i am almost positive my car's clock came with a plastic cover over it that was removable. keep in mind that you don't need brute strength to remove this thing, comes right off using a nail and a little presure. if this isn't the case then most likely its a defect in the clock's plastic face.
