Volk TE37 - Should I buy these rims??

I have a friend of a friend selling these rims. They are in excellent condition with no scratches. The person selling these rims only used them when he drove his integra type r to a car show raised, then lowered it when he got there, so there is no uneven wear. He is selling these because he bought custom advan wheels.
I was planning to buy them, but I was having some doubts because I haven't spent this much money on anything for my car. What do you guys think?
Btw, I have a 1997 neptune blue max.. no drop yet, but going to this summer. I also wasn't sure because the rims are white..

Here is a link to a pic from some website..

He is selling these for $1300 w/tires 90% tread left. Retail is like $2700.
Size is 18x7.5.

Make sure it is the right offset but yeah that is a really good price for those wheels. You can powdercoat the rims to a color u like and still come out cheaper then buying them new.

The one thing you should check is the tire size. I was about to buy a set of rims off a type R, then I put them on the MAX and realized the tires were to small, like an 1in. short in dia.

Just something to check!!

7.5 is kinda small. You could get away with it but I know of others who have bought 18x7.5 rims and have regretted it. A half an inch really does make a difference. Also type-r's are 5 lugs or 4?

Just some things to think about.

The teg is a 4 lug pattern, so I dont even know if they will fit. If they do though, no offense, but you would be stupid not to get them. I have the same blue, and with white Volks with the blue lettering, that shiznit would be worth the cake

Integra Type R's are 5x114 same as ours. The regular tegs are 4 lug.

Make sure they aren't imitations!!!! My friend thought he was getting the real deal until they arrived and they had no lettering and the thing weighed a ton!

As long as they are the correct offset 35-40 and bolt pattern, grab them as fast as you can. I got my set of 18x7.5 TE37s for $1800, and mine was a steal.

With a 7.5" rim up to a +48mm offset will work. I have 7.5" wheels with a +45 and they fit fine. I wish they were +40s though, they would give the car a bit wider stance.

Good thing to check. Real TE37s in 18x7.5 should weight 17lbs each and should be noticibly lighter than stock rims. They will also have the "Volk Racing" and "RAYS Engineering" stickers on the arms, and have a VOLK sticker on the inner side of the lip giving full information about the rim including size and offset.

$1300 with tires does sound pretty cheap for a rim that normally goes for about $2100 without tires. Make sure you're getting the real thing.
