why does my nissan not start?
just moved to NJ in Nov., maybe the gas here's the prob: my maxima wouldn't start, i had to give it gas when starting up, this usually started her up -mechanic replaced spark plugs and fuel filter- 1 week later she's totally dead, started up again a 2 days later, she then spent 1 week in the shop only to have the mechanic tell me he cant diagnose the prob- he just adjusted the rpm's - btw my sis' '02 altima wouldnt start the other day either, poss. fuel pump prob - has any1 had this happen to their maxima - is it a possible defect/recall?

Check both crank seosors, (POS & REF) Remove them and clean the magnetic pickup, they attract fine metalic dust that seems to interfear with the signal. With out the properly timed signal from these sensors, your spark and fuel delivery will not be timmed correctly for ignition. Hance, your car will not start.

Clean your throttle body around the butterfly valve.
Check your ECU for fault codes.
Check your throttle position sensor.
I had your exact same problem and it was the last one: TPS.

well the mechanic changed my rpm's - she sounds like a monster now lol but i dont know if that took care of the problem
