How long did your knock sensor last

I see so many threads about knock sensors lately so i am going to do a poll on how long yours lasted before it was replaced. Also i think there should be a good detailed write up in the faq section since there are posts about this every day.

I have never had any problems with my car until recently. About two months ago I decided to do the ECU check for the first time to see if anything would show up and sho nuff the KS was the code. Now two months later I do get a check engine light and it is my rear 02 and the KS. So when I first got the KS code it was about 96K.

Let me know when you're done w/ the detailed write-up complete with pictures and links to where to buy them for the $1. I'll submit it to Kev

On the poll this is when you changed them, but how many miles did you guys think they were bad before you found the problem and changed it?

Ya id like to know as well....but from what ive heard you can get a thermal 550-600kohm resistor and just put it int he spot of the knock sensor. Of course there would be no sensor to detect knock in which case you would mess up your internals pretty badly from detonation. The only time i think i would do this to the maxima is when its at 250 000km + and its not worth buying a sensor.
