Just wondering if anybody knows a good method for getting that permafunk sort of crap that builds up particularly on the front rims.. I haven't tried any of the "spray and sit on your ***" products yet.. Thought I'd poll my boys first

That "crap" is brake dust. It will stain the wheels if you dont clean them often.

I use Eagle One AtoZ All Wheel Cleaner. They say it's just a "spray on - hose off" product, but I have to scrub.

Simply Green works somewhat. You still have to scrub some.

I use AtoZ too. Works well. If you have a lot of crap though you'll ahve to keep working at it. Rim cleaner has a cumulative effect. I ahve real bad spots of crap right now, but they get better each time i clean the car. Just keep at it. Oh and you need to scrub...definitely. My dad bought a roundish toilet brush and that **** works PERFECTLY on our rims...

Brillo Pads, my man, brillo pads....not the regular ones. "light duty" won't scratch the $#%@ out of your rims, but it cleans mine up just fine. 99 SE Limited.

The best things Ive seen to clean that off of there is brake degreaser. Also known as Brakleen. Spray some on a clean rag and a little on the rims and let it soak for a sec, then whipe it right off.

Just a good wheel cleaner, a brush (toilet brush works just fine), water and some elbow grease works great
