Cat-back / muffler questions

I had been debating on what to do for an exhaust system for a while now. I wasnt really focused on horsepower gains, but on a nice sound. I was going to go for the Megan Racing exhaust, but after some of the things Ive been hearing about it, I dont want to spend that kind of money on it.

Now here are my questions.

Im going to have a local muffler shop do the whole thing custom for me, so I was wondering whether I should go with 2.5 inch or 3 inch piping.

Next, what kind of muffler should I get? I dont want a fart-can, but I want something that people will notice. I was thinking about a Flowmaster muffler, but my friend just put one on his Supra, and it has an awful "bees in a can" sound. You guys think this would happen with a maxima too? I want a nice deep sound, and I definately want it to be noticable with I accelerate or rev the engine. Any suggestions for a good muffler would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time, and sorry for the long writeup.

- Chris

for what I have been readin the OBX catback has the best non-rice sound, but I can be wrong since I don't have one. Any way I think you should focus in HP and get your self a Y-pipe if you don't already have one. By the way where you gonna get this done?
