Most Intercoolers are universal and you'll juss need some endtanks welded and some fitment. You only need an intercooler if you have boost tho. Most Supercharged guys dont need/use an intercooler. I have a decent sized intercooler but im using a turbo...

pictures?

I have no clue what an intercooler looks like...any pictures off of your turbo max? I'm planning on going with a S/C and would like my tranny to last as long as possible...any suggestions? Larger injectors, oil cooler, a/m water pump etc.? Thanks

Hay Alex ,

if you want your tranny to last longer get a tranny cooler,it's only like $100.If you want your engine to last longer get a engine cooler. The intercooler should offer more engine reliabality but it has a price tag of about $1200 and looks funky if you ask me,the intercooler will add about 20-30 HP when moving a highway speed though {bonus}. If you want to see some pics do a search {key word intercooler} and SteveSChicago {I thinks his name} posted a few pics.I will try to get you a definate price for our SC in a few weeks. And still no pics of my HID's{any day now}.

99dustmagnet,
yea i got some pics, email me personally and ill send some to you.

Emax95,
Engine cooler? you mean oil cooler rite? heeh..
$1200 is pretty expensive for an intercooler unless your going with a large high end one. mine only cost $200, moderately sized and endtanks cost $40 each? i forget... how did you come to the conclusion of 20-30hp from an intercooler? juss wondering....thanks later

yep meant oil cooler,my bad.As for coming up with 20-30 HP figure,Steve mentioned on another post that per PSI of boost = 20-25 HP and for every PSI of intercooles boost =25-30 so I came to the possibly premature conclusion that a intercooler whould add 20-30 HP.Also looking back at some of his old posts he tryed to get a group deal for his intercooler for $1000 which is $200 less then retail=$1200. Whats your take on the intercooler in respects of power gains and engine durabalty. Thanks

ahh i see, the $1200 price includes installation and any modifications that might need to be done. i guess thats about rite. I think 20hp per psi of boost is way too much. If that were the case, the Stillen kit should put out 120-150hp@6psi, but it puts out a claimed 80hp. That number can vary on blower/turbo sizing, efficency of the motor and other factors. I guess you can say Intercooler helps increase engine durability but thats not its purpose. Its purpose to reduce intake air temperature to prevent detonation and produce more power from denser air.

coolers...gauges....

Considering superchargers vs. NA cars...

How large should the tranny cooler be? 15hx10w, 8hx12w, etc.?
I was browsing http://www.summitracing.com and saw some nice tranny/oil coolers. Should I buy 2 coolers, one for tranny and another for oil? Summit also sells a combo unit for around $100 but it looks small for a unit that cools both. Anyway, if it does the job, I'm probably going to consider it.

One more thing...gauges...
Don't want to run lean with boost...EGT, Oil Pressure, boost gauge, sound ok or are there more important ones? Autometer, A'pexi, Greddy?
