Need suggestions on new shocks

I have a '97 Maxima SE with Eibach Springs & 17" wheel with a stock shock absorber, can anybody give me any suggestion on the kind of shock absorber that would give me a less bumpy ride. i'm a bit confused with so much selection. thanks a lot for your help.

For the actualy recommendation, either Konis, AGX or Tokico Illuminas, the following site might help narrow that down for you.

All the info you'll ever need about suspension including shocks, springs, settings:

the harshness of your ride is coming from your springs, not from your shocks. although your stock shocks might be blown because they arent made to be used with lowering springs. i would say get some H&R springs along with some GR2 shocks, you'll have the same ride height with better ride quality.

eibachs are pretty stiff even though they dont drop your car that much.. get adjsutable shocks.. koni yellow or kyb AGX.. i can try a softer shock like gr2 or tokico blue..but you;ll need a stronger dampening rate for how still eibachs are. my 2 cents

There's already like 3 threads going about this right now. SIGH.

In any case...H&R's and KYB AGX are working out pretty ****ing well for me.

KYB Corporation recomends the use of Eibach lowering springs with their products. The Eibach/AGX or Eibach GR2 combo's ride great.

GR2's are not a soft shock, they are valved similar to AGX's set on 2 up front and 3 or 4 in the rear. Thats pretty firm and will control just about any sport/lowering spring.

If you want adjustability from smooth to very firm, get the KYB AGX's
If you don't need to adjust anything or don't do any racing with your car, save yourself some money and get the KYB GR2 series to couple with your Eibach springs.

You'll definately enjoy the ride!

Yup. Great advice. If you dont need the adjustablity, get the KYB GR2 and forget about it! I plan to do the same next next week.
