nankang tires??

went to american tire co today. looking for tires. kinda on a budget but hoping to get some decently good high performance all season tires( go up mountains alot to snowbaord in winter) sales guy tried to sell me some Nankang ns-1 tire. i asked for a weird size 225/50/17. guess those were all he had in my size. tire actully looks pretty good. agressive directional treadpatten (kinda similar to kuhmo 712) any one ever use, heard of have feedback on the nankang ns-1 tire?

I have the Nankang sport ns-1 tires. They aren't so great in performance. I've had mine on with 17s for about 9 months and the front tires are really really worn. Not bald but much more worn than the rear tires which haven't been taking any abuse cause I haven't rotated them yet. Also, they are really really loud. With the windows up or down, you can clearly hear the tires rolling around the ground. And when you take a sharp turn they are extremely loud. They're even louder than my Frankencar Intake at wot. j/k but they make a lotta noise. I'd say, if you have the $$, just invest in some Nitto nt555 tires. I would like to say that the Nankangs are great for the money, but they really aren't. I highly regret buying them just cause I was short on cash. Hope this helps.

hmm..i went back today. got the kuhmo 712's instead. not the best tire ever but the price was still good..105 per tire mounted bal for 225/45/17.. and even threw in 4 free lugs to replace my missing ones(took off lock nuts from previous owner) i dont plan on any autoxing so the kuhmo's shold serve me well for daily street.

are u liken the way the 225/45/17's look. i did 235/45/17 on my car. i think mine has too much rubber, but since it is a 17 instead of a 18 it works well.

I just put on the 235/40/18 nankang ns-2s and despite what people said I've been driving maybe 50-100 miles on them, and havn't notcied any noise yet and they grip great to the road. Very good for the price! so far, so good.
