ACT Grab Height ??

I had my ACT in for about 13,000 miles and finally there is minimal chatter in the car..I did the mounts poly a while back and that didnt help but the clutch actually feels good now..smooth for once, probably just broke in

My question is where does your ACT clutch grab in the pedal range...in the past like 1000k miles its been up pretty high..prob about 2/3 of the way up and it feels wrong ?? I guess cause its broken in now ??

it used to grab really low...now its probaby alittle more than half way...it is noticable high though :(

I have a flywheel in there too...how can a clutch wear that much in 13K miles...I dont abuse it at all...and it still grabs like a bi*ch

if it started low and has gotten high now i'd assume the clutch is wearing, but it may not be alot, just enough for the grabbing point to move up

Well I plan on pulling the tranny again so when its down ill check all the parts...at 13,000 miles the clutch should look pretty dam* new and if it doesnt then i buy a new one...

its only money :)

I've had my ACT for about 14k now, and my engagement height hasn't changed at all. Mine still grabs right off the floor :gotme:

yea, skeelo34 has ACT, when i drove it, the millisecond u let off on the clutch, it engages quick...could be all setting though because my stock engages halfway to 2/3, not as fast as his ACT for sure

it depend on how you adjust the the clutch cylyinder. mines doesn't realy chatter at all now.

We have a hydraulic clutch system on our Maximas. If the clutch engagement position has changed, you may have a leak in that system. The most common place for a leak is in the clutch line that connects to the tranny clutch housing. Check the whole system for leaks. Another indication would be a dropping clutch fluid level. Check that also.

If there are no leaks, you can adjust the clutch pedal engagement position. Adjustment is made via loosening a lock nut and rotating the shaft of the clutch master cylinder, located at the top of the clutch pedal assembly, which is buried up under the dash and not particularly easy to get to. Get ahold of a service manual for details.

My stock clutch engages really low, ask Mecca. However I am buying an ACT clutch this week, sinse I am installing N2O.
