Reason I ask is because I am swapping my RT cat and Stillen Cat back from my 95 max into my new 98 I30 and vise versa. The only difference between the 2 is that on the 98 the o2 sensor is in the B-Pipe and on the 95 the o2 sensor is in the Cat,so I figured I would just stick the o2 sensor in my I30 just like it was before and then just put a o2 sensor plug in the Catilitic converter. But heres the problem on the 95 the sensor goes in the cat,but since I am putting my 98 exaust in my 95 the Cat will not have the o2 sensor hole but rather a hole in the B-Pipe,heres the real problem the o2 sensor hole on the B-Pipe is a larger one then the o2 sensor for the 95 {which use to go into the Cat} so the sensor does not fit,so I figured what I would try to do is just swap the o2 sensors between the cars and plug them in accordingly but now the sensors whould both be in a different position then stock.

If your confused from what I just said {I know I am}then heres the ??? in short. Will switching the o2 sensor from my 98 into my 95 work and vise versa, and also will having the o2 sensors in the wrong place for the year create a problem. Please tell me what you think!!

One other thing what exactly do the o2 sensors do?Thanks a lot for any help.

Emax,
look for this thing call an o2 Simulator from
Johnson electronics (??spelling??)
they have this device that fools the computer in thinking the rear o2 sensor is working, but actually the simulator is just sending 1s and 0s back to the ecu, pretending the o2 is working..

email me and i'll try to find the correct URL..

Idea a try first.Do you think it might work? BTW your right about the Y-Pipe install {on your webpage} it's a pain in the A$$ specialy when you have to do it twice {because I'm swapping them}.
