4-spd vs. Turbo Civic Hatchback
I was headed toward the Ontario races last weekend and ran next to a sleeper turbo hatchback (i herd the blow off valve and my passenger saw the intercooler).... we took a couple runs starting at around 80mph.... and he won all of them .. not by much though... he usually gains ahead in the beginning by one car length before my acceleration caught up.. and both our cars stayed the same distance untill about 125 where i passed him. I'm guessing he called it quits, but what made me like to believe that i beat him at the end was that after i passed him.. he didn't slow down untill i slowed down.... so what do you guys think?

depends on what year Civic? How much boost and what type turbo system he was running. Simple Greddy bolt on kit is good for like 50hp. This is without intercooler so it was prolly not this kit. There are many other kits availbe for the Civic hatch. What mods do you have on your Max?

no offense...
but he was probably just toying with you.
i was running 13.50 @ 105 w/ a SOHC 96 civic coupe...
with the GReddy turbo kit (SMALL td04 turbo)...
unless this guy had like a 1989 civic w/ a blown turbo...
he was probably just toying with your 15+ sec Max.
then again...he could have had the fake intercooler...
along with the electronic (fake) Blowoff valve...

About a month ago, I almost ran this Civic. Then I saw the huge front mount intercooler. It's a good thing I didn't, it would have been embarassing. When I was behind him (not racing) he decided to gun it and that thing pulled hard. It was insane.

Be AFRAID....Be VEEEERY AFRAID...
There are some VEEEEERY fast hondas that you will encounter on the streets...
Especially if you're in the NY area (or CA for that matter)
Trust me...
I used to own one...
I had a 400HP turbo civic that I drove on the street all the time...
and there were a few instances while racing up in NY that I would get SMOKED by another honda...
I know for a fact that their are multiple stock looking 600-700HP+ civics making a killing w/ street racing in the TriState area.
BEWARE.

yeah it's ontario, Socal
and a lot of people are getting busted... when i actually exited the highway and right on the street there was one of those light signs made for construction warnings and messages and it read "Street Raceing Enforcement," i was surprized because i haven't been to the races for a while now.. oh well.. guess i won't be going anymore...
Oh man, I almost fell for that trap last year..
I was driving with my friend and I saw a hopped up Del Sol in front of me, so I decided to toy with him. So I dropped it into third and flew by him.
But when I looked in my sideview mirror, I saw a massive intercooler gaping back at me.
And I promptly backed off
Dammit, I want boost...
