I was trying to clear the trouble codes from the ECU in my '98 Max SE. I was not sure if what I am getting is a code or not. I have researched about 10 sites already, and I am confused about the code:
5 long flashes, 5 short. In some of the places I looked (including the FAQ-Help my Check Engine Light....), I did not get the info I needed. The FAQ link tells me that the 0505 means nothing is wrong. Another link tells me that it means the IAC-AAC valve is malfunctioning.

Does anyone have some info that would clear this up?

Also, I tried the procedure to reset the ECU and I am wondering how to tell if (not just the MIL lamp is out) the computer has no more codes... I changed it from mode 1 to 2, and back again...I just can't seem to figure out if anything is wrong.
Also, any links that show where the IAC-AAC valve is located? I read about how to clean it, but I have not found where it is. Thanks in advance.

 

0505 is the "all clear" signal.
