R32 Projector Conversion

Well my R32 headlights came in today. Has anyone else done this mod? from what I see I need to make a few modifications to make them fit. If you have done this mod, please let me know if i'm doing this correctly.

What kind of modifications? Body or just some kind of mounting system?

Isn't r32 headlight too small to be on maxima??

i think they're definitely smaller than other skyline heads, but i'm sure you can have a body shop make some changes. it'll just be more cash for the project. i've definitely gotta see pics!

Search for this. It was discussed last week. No real body work was needed.

Thanks, exactly what I wanted. And they are not too small to fit on the maxima. actually i took off my headlights and grill. it seems like the following need to be done:
cut inner supports of r32 lights to clear the frame behind the lights.
cut the frame behind the lights a little to make space for the inner high beam housing.
cut 3/4" of that little piece of the bumper that sticks up to meet the grill.
somehow find a way to secure corner lamp since headlight housing and stock mounting point are gone.
side bolts seem to be in the right position. also seems a bit shorter than stock lights. might put some black surgical tubing to fill the gap. but all in all it looks very close to stock headlights.

Please post pics from all angles when you are done if you can and tell us how long/ how much work it was to make these fit.

Are you going to have to cut the little piece of metal in between the corner light and stock headlight? Will you need some sort of custom bracket to hold the grill in place?

Thanks.

EDIT-
This is the only picI have seen of these on a Max -

The line where the stock headlight and corner light join follows the line between the hood and fender. In the pic above you can see the R32 lights do not. Was the corner light trimmed? They also look like they stick out more than the stock headlights but you would need to see a pic from the side to tell for sure. It almost looks like the upper part of the headlight is in front of the corner light in the picture

Will they line up with the stock grill?

Kanaka:

Let me know if you need brackets made or bent before the school year is out. I can ask some of the metal shop students if they can make you something (they are making a gauge panel for the DIN opening in my car).

Aloha,

-Pics should be taken with the hood open, so we can see mounting points.
-some installation instructions+possible GD. Not a bad mod for $200?

psics above prove 95-96 front end look awesome.

They are. Since they include corner lights, no need to align the 2 lights. Just get it done right the first time.

These need body work to get them done right

That looks really nice. Anyone know how much the R34 headlights cost and the approximate cost for bodywork to get those to fit? Thanks

Ha Ha nice try! New the things cost like $500-$595 dollars! Expensive! Used? Good luck I haven't seen them anywhere?
