Fact? Bright Corners method for '97-98

I wanted to clear something up. Does the brighter corner light mod work with '97-98 Models? Where the procedure is when you cut the nub off the bulb? Because I have seen in some posts that some people with '97 and '98 have done this mod without soldering, rewiring? I have tried this on my '97 Max and I am having no luck in it working. Thanks for the help.

I have a '98, and to get what I wanted, I simply added some speaker wire by wrapping it around existing nub, and added a bit of solder to the other end. In effect, I created two "nubs" so that both filaments on an 1157 bulb would illuminate. You can't get brighter than that. I had to replace my "TAIL LIGHT" fuse with a 10-amp, since I was drawing 27 Watts more power on each corner.
The process for brighter corners is simple: You must get power to the 27 Watt side of the bulb. The original "nub" will give power to the 8 Watt side. Switch nub locations and you use the other filament of the lightbulb. Get creative and experiment. Check your fuses if lights are not coming on (in addition to tail lights not working).

So by just cutting one of the nubs will not work for the '97-98. Damn I was hoping it would work with these years as with the '95-96. Thanks.

Well, in my '98, I only had one nub to begin with...

i don't think you understood what he said...
as long as you use the other nub...it will be brighter
SO cut off the nub, and stick the bulb in backwards...done

i did it...and it works fine
