Help! Possible ECU problem in 99 Maxima?

I have a 99SE that will not start. There's a TSB about the security system/ignition that says "car will not start",not much help, and that is essentially all. Do I need a new ECU? Any advice/knowledge of this problem would be most helpful. By the way, the car won't start and the ECU thinks everything is fine!

Without symptoms no one can give you advice. Anything peculiar happen prior to car not starting? Does it crank? Do all the dash lights come on? Are you using a replacement key (99's have a chipped key)?

A few things to check:

1. Is there fuel in the tank?
2. Did someone steal your battery?
3. Are you using the key to another car?
4. Are you using a key?
5. Are you putting the key in the right place?
6. Can you be more vague?

I think that the problem is with your keys. Something happened to them where it can't communicate with the vehicle's security system. Get your car towed to the stealership and have them program you a new key.

Now I understand the thread title/thread was extremely vague, but am quite surprised at the response to it, especially from a moderator. Now, my boyfriend, the original poster, has never posted on a forum before, so is not used to the ways of forums. This forum is here for people to ask questions and learn from others, and talk with other Maxima enthusiasts, not to be judged about a simple thread title, or am I wrong? A simple comment about posting better thread titles in the future would have sufficed. Note: this is my opinion on this and you can hold your judgement on me with that matter, I am only posting for him because he is at work.

Now as far as his Maxima, here is some more info, the car does try to crank, not click. The battery is fine, the ECU says everything is fine. The only dash light on when trying to start is the security light, and the mechanics think this is all because of a security system problem. The car was working fine, no problems (he takes very good care of the car), except about a week ago he tried to start it and it wouldn't start. He is using the correct key as well, they thought about that as well. It has been in the shop ever since with this problem. The mechanics are leaning towards replacing the ECU to see if that corrects the problem. My boyfriend would appreciate any advice, comments, or similar experience with this matter or the TSB on the security system/ignition. Thank you in advance and I hope this helps more!
