Longer Lasting Tire Shine

I've tried many of the tire shines on the market and they all work fine, but they just don't last. I remember seeing on the speed channel this liquid stuff that you sort of paint on your tire and it gives it a nice shine while also protecting it, but I can't recall the name and I haven't been able to find it anywhere. Anyone know what I'm talking about or have any other suggestions?

i know that alot of used car lots use floor wax. Its cheap, and easy to apply. I've found that it lasts quite a while too. Don't use any with petrol distilates, as it will degrade the rubber.

Turtle Wax Tire Wax Shine

It's a paste, goes on with a sponge applicator. Stays on, wount fling off and usually shines for a few washes. You can buff the side wall once it starts to get dull for a nice clean flat-matt finish.

Most of that tire shine stuff is garbage. It will gurt your tires. Anything with Silicone or petroliium stuff in it is no good. I haven't found anything that lasts particularly long, but I am curently using 3m's rubber protectant. Not that shiny but it also won't destroy my tires.

When I was in high school I detailed cars at a Jaguar dealership and they always used Car Brite Tire shine. It's the best tire shine I've ever seen and it smells like blue berries and lasts forever. I still use it on my cars but it costs $80 for a big bucket that lasts me for about a year. Look up Car Brite in your town and see if they can hook you up.

I work at a car dealership and I think we use that Car Brite stuff too. I just use it at work and it lasts a couple weeks and through a couple wahes too. You just spray it onto a rag and wipe it onto the tire.

The stuff you're talking about is called duragloss It's supposed to keep your tires shiney for a couple of months. I don't know anyone who has used it, so I can't tell you if it works or not. Anyone out there use this?

I use Meguiar's Gold Class endurance high gloss gel, it works pretty good. The best stuff I've used, last at least a couple of weeks too, without rain.

Yep, Meguiar's. Armorall is doing more than harm than good to both your dash and your tires.

I am using Eagle tire shine. Not too shiny and lasts. Put some on 12 days ago, drove 2500 miles, went through two car washes, and the tires still look good.

I use Eagle One's "Wet Tire Gel" This stuff is killer! I purchased Eagle One's Detail Bucket off of their website. I am extremely pleased with thier products but the "Wet Tire Shine" that came in the bucket didnt last as long as I would have liked. So I tried this stuff and it is a keeper! Here's the link.

www.eagleone.com/_products/1,2083616.asp

Check out thier other products while your there. They also have detailing mpegs for thier products that you can watch right there on thier site.

armorall is fine just dont use it on leather seats. armorall was used on the dash and tires of my old 90 se for 13 years, the last six of which, when the car was passed down to me, it was used religously. that interior was perfection.

mmaixkiem- do you have problems with the eagle one getting black crap all over your wheels when you wash with a brush? i had problems but when used on my brothers car or my girlfriends car there wheels were fine?

2 of my 4 years in college i spend detailing carz. Armorall sux! The only thing that i use that for is spraying the Engine once i have degreased and scrubbed it down.

I have found that nothing really works that well for a long lasting tire shine, expecially once it has rained. I have found the keeping a bottle of spray on (they all work the same) shine under the pass. seat and using it when it needs it is the best way to go!

I've heard that the Meguiars is good as well, though I have not tried it personally. Meguiars is at least trustworthy too...

I found that I really like the way the foam works, as long as its not all over the paint/rims/clothing. While I am a diehard armorall fan, using the foam, but applying with a plastic scowering (sp) tool makes those wheels look pretty nice

Damn, they do have some nice products, and the videos on their site are awesome. They have a cool Detailing package that comes with everything you need, wax, car wash, tire shine, wheel cleaner, wax applicator pad, etc, for like $20!

Get the bucket, it is more than worth it. Look under products and go to "kits". Its $29.99 and it rocks. I did the math and you end up paying $5.00 more for the bucket. But where can you buy a cool bucket like that for $5.00? I also bought some of thier micro fiber towels. They work great! Like I said, I've yet to use an Eagle One product I didn't like.

Floor WaX it is not good for tires. it makes tiny cracks on it. i would not recommend that.

I use the same stuff: Turtle Wax Tire Wax Shine

Edit: Sad thing is, I scuff my tires so much from parking so close to the curb, I lose my shine in no time
Is it just me?

I use it for washing my car and drying. It's very durable I throw it in the wash and use it over and over. it's very strong, it's supposed to hold about 8 times it's weight in water. It dosen't leave any lint on your car the way regular towels do.

I'm tellin you guys, I saw this stuff on the Speed channel, but I didn't catch the name of it, you paint it on and it lasts like six months. It comes in normal clear, but also with multicolored glitter if you're into that sort of thing. It looked like a think liquid. More like glue or something
