Other undefined codes...

I recently put in an air intake and the engine light came on. When I checked the computer, it flashed the codes 34, 41, and 91. I have the factory manual, and none of these codes were found. I removed the intake and the light stayed after flashing back 55, or no problems. Anyone know what these codes are?

READ THE STICKIES!

3-4 is Knock Sensor
4-1 is Intake Air Temp Sensor
9-1 is Front Right Htd 02 sensor heater

you may need a new intake temp sensor, i cant imagine it being very expensive. then you might also need that o2 sensor, those are a bit pricey. there are ways to MAYBE fix the one you have now by soaking it in brake cleaner and stuff. and dont worry about the KS, it comes up all the time with other probs. fix the other two things first. then your CEL should go away. but make sure to keep checking for the 3-4 code, it WILL NOT cause the CEL to come on, but the KS does go bad after 60-100k miles.

good luck.

0304 is Knock Sensor
0401 is intake air temprature sensor
0901 is upstream 02 sensor heater fault (right bank)

These codes come from a Haynes Manual, which you can get at any auto parts store

Thanx man. Do you know is there's any way, or a special way, to install an intake without having the engine light come on because of these problems?

Not that I know of...... If you put on an intake or something like that, the cars ECU will throw a code and light up the check engine light..... Usually, you can check the code to make sure its nothing serious, reset the ECU and drive for a few days while the ECU learns that there is an Intake. The same thing happens when you get a Y-Pipe installed.

thats funny. i have had my intake on for nearly a year and a y pipe for 6 months and not once, not for the install, and at no time after, did I get a CEL. Maybe you should reevaluate your mechanic skillz.

I thought you were supposed to get a CEL for a little while until the ECU learned the mods were there...

nope. the ecu will learn to an extent, but it does not readjust the limits that trigger a CEL.
