CEL on/off switch mod

I just hooked up a switch to my CEL. This mod is useful for anyone running a JWT ECU on a 96+ or anyone running the drop resistor mod.

The hardest part of this mod is removing the gauge cluster. There are a few write ups on this; and you can find instructions on the cluster removal from any service manual. I'll go over the cluster removal quickly. Remove the panel under the steering wheel by removing the two retaining screws. Once you've done that, remove the metal plate (10mm bolts). Move the steering wheel to the lowest setting. Remove the two screws holding the black bezel that surrounds the gauge cluster. Carefully pop the bezel out. There are a bunch of clips around the bottom portion of the black piece. You may want to remove the switches and disconnect them before taking the bezel out. I didn't though. I disconnected the switches after I got most of the bezel out.

Remove three screws holding the gauge cluster in. You will find that the traces on the back of the cluster are labelled. You will be able to easily find the power to the CEL. The trace leads to the green wire at the end of the wiring harness that goes in to the cluster. Follow the trace from the CEL light to the harness to make sure you have the right wire. Cut green wire and hook up a switch to it. =) Put everything back together. No more annoying CEL. =)

Sorry no pictures, too lazy.
