Control Arm bushing?????
Control Arm bushing?????
Recently I have noticed an intermittent squeaking coming from the back and front of my car. I recently had both front and rear brakes done and inspected them again yesterday. The squeaking is most common when the brakes are applied but sounds more like a suspension problem.
I had my struts, springs and strut mounts inspected also. They are all fine. I am leaning towards my control arm bushing. A friend mentioned to me that sometimes they could get dry. Question....what do I use to lubricate the bushing if it is dry?
A more descriptive analogy of the sound is to imagine opening a car door that was shut for a while and doesn't have any grease on the hinges.(close enough)
Thanx

sounds a bit similar to my car, but its just on the drivers side rear spring area. It squeks, and sags. Had it inspected and turned out ok. I wouldn't have a problem with it except sagging on just that one corner looks bad. So I im interested in an answer as well.
thanks
thanks

I can't understand how one corner can sag?
Does your squeak go away in the rain?
It could be coils rubbing on each other or the control arm bushing. Spray some WD-40 or even some Tire Shine onto the spring. If the noise goes away, then you've found the source. If it doesn't go away, then you should spray the control arm bushings with WD-40. Let it soak in for a bit and then see if the squeak goes away. If not, next is the sway bar bushings. It could be either the end links or the main bushings.

Thanks for your help I will try the WD-40. My car doesn't sag like the other guy, mine just makes this annoying squeaking sound. Last night after driving it, I'm even thinking it might be my calipers that I recently painted. I didn't disconnect them from the rotor. I simply took the wheels off and sprayed like four coats on each caliper.
I am thinking now that the paint on the calipers might be the culprit.
