help! bose cd player not working

my bose cd player stopped working. i've always played burned cds. now the fm still works, but the cd goes in and is recognized, but it doesn't play. anybody else have this problem? i hope i don't have to replace the whole headunit. i don't know if cleaning would work? since none of my cds even play. btw, i have a '95. thanks.

I had the same thing happen with mine. I took it out and shipped it off to have it repaired. From what I've read if you replace the head unit you should also replace the whole system including speakers and amplifiers. I had mine repaired for $200 and it sounds great. Try the link below. This is where I had mine repaired, and they have a ton of info as well.

You dont need to replace the whole system if you just change the HU. My Bose crapped out (of course everyones does) and I bought a Kenwood HU and a Scosche Adapter for the Bose. It sounds just as good as it ever did, maybe better. If you are going with the route of new hu, I have a Sony Xplod m620 for sale, 3 years warranty left remaining on it.. Let me know if you are intereted

Which converter did you use? I paid $50 for mine and it sounds great. You do have to program the converter though..

Look for one on e-bay, they arent that expensive I got the 99 head unit in my 98 for $50. Or you could try putting a cd lens cleaner and running it through, sometimes that helps too.

I got a Peripheral Electronics NISAH4 (eBay) but added 95-2002 nissan harness i got a hum probably a ground loop. I my real problem was my Sony Cd player. its an Xplod rated @ 52 watts and i didnt want to damage anything so i kept all 4 attenuators real low. I just liked the bose better.
