Taking gas out of tank??? Help!

I wasnt thinking and filled up a full tank today and realized that Friday I am entering my car in a car show and can only have less than 1/4 tank. Does anyone know how to get the gas out of the tank...LOL? Also taking gas out doesnt hurt anything does it? The only thing I can think of to do is drive around A LOT! Thanks for any suggestions.

Just drive. Drive alot. That would be the safest way. Yeah, why only 1/4 tank?

you could siphon(sp?) some of it out with a hose. i dont think there is anything to block it. take a hose and stick it down into the tank, then the fun part, start sucking on the hose untill gas comes out(you might get some in your mouth, dont swallow) make sure you have a large container to put all that gas in. then just fill it back up when you are done. this is a last resort, gas taste nasty, trust me.

good luck

yeah throw a hose in there, start sucking it and when it starts pouring in your mouth, point the other end in a bucket. aftwards, go brush your teeth!

As in....if you drink the gasoline (instead of just siphoning it out)...your bound to get a good high (albeit go blind or something).

joke man, joke.

You can buy a siphoner. Way safer than the hick method, but takes a long *** time. Lots of pumping...

Other than that, take a trip.

If you're going to siphon, buy a length of CLEAR hose (e.g. Home Depot sells vaious sizes) so you can see the gas coming & you can get your mouth off in time.

Guess the bigger question would be what to do with the 14+ gallons you take out of the car

I got this siphon kit from autozone that has a clear tube with a rubber ball attached in the middle and by squeezing it - you create a vacuum in the tube (same effect as sucking on the tube). I used it to get brake fluid and power steering out of the resovoirs.

1/4 tank is more dangerous than a full tank. Fuel does not explode, fumes do and the less fuel the more fumes.

Whoever is running that show need a little course in how explosions are caused and prevented.
