*PICS* Idea for 4g Tails *PICS*

Since we dont have any other options besides Altezza's, and Red-Outs I was thinking about another idea, that I saw once on another model car. How does this look, it may look strange, but its different..

it's illegal, y0! but people can get away w/ it i'm sure... but yeah, haha that would be a cool idea to do. I wonder how hard paint matching would be though.

Wouldnt it be the same idea as the Red-Outs you did?

This might work, just as your REd-out Idea..

I just looked up the brand of vinyl tape that I used... it's heavy industrial and doesn't fade at all. Plus, it looks hella good! hard to tell that it's just a sticker on top...

http://www.oracal.com/products/produ...&cat_ID=3&pg=2

I used "red 031" , so maybe it would be orange or yellow orange. Maybe you can email em and request some "sample" and usually they send you a good sized sheet. They don't do it for red though... i've tried lol, i guess people have asked for too many red samples or something.

either way , if your gonna paint the reverse lights anyway , why not just paint it red to match the whole 4 piece lights,

either way painting it orange or red they are both illegal , just the red would look better

well the "red-out" mod just covers up the amber blinkers w/ the same color red as the brake portion... the reverse area still stays clear.

i know that , i have done the red out method too, left my reverse clear, i was refering to the top pic with the reverse lights painted amber to match the amber outter piece of lights, if u are gonna paint over the reverse lights anyway , why not just paint over all lights, inner and outer red

make all 4 pieces in the back look red, its still illegal either way , if u paint the reverse lights amber or red , just red would look better, i seen a 97 max painted all red in the back , reverse lights and all , looked great

How about all red except for a small area left clear for the reverse light?

Wouldn't that look better...

its different but looks better than stock, way better than all white but i still think red/white looks better although since they are so hard to get this would make an excellent substitution. Way to go gtr_rider

I think it looks funny, I dont know, in my opinion if you were to cover up everything, then I would go all red, especially if you have a dark car, cause it looks real nice. I also used the stained glass spray paint for my amber turn signals, works awesome.

in all honmesty that look blows away that fugly "all red" look that people try to do here. If i didnt have DavidL clear/reds that would be my choice of design.

and Altezzas regardless of the generation are NOT AN OPTION for the maxima!

goodwork!

I searched Google last night, and ran over this picture of an accord with this same Idea. What he had done was masked off a little area of the reverse light so that it wouldnt be painted over, and did a little design of it.

You know what we need is real skyline tails. Those would be a great option if they could fit right.

I dont think I can put something like that on my car, if Ionic decides to make those skyline covers for the 95-96 I'll be all over that. Until then, innovation stirs

Next time your out, check out the VW Passats and Jettas rear lights. They horizonal stripe paint +/- 30% on the rear lights so that most of the light shines through. The color matches the rest of the light assembly.

I used testors translucent candy apple red paint from a hobby shop to do my red/clears.

http://www.vqpower.com/v2/modules.ph...view_album.php

Took about a 1/2 can. If anyone needs some in south florida, I have 1.5 cans left

we are talkin about cheap alternatives here... if you want all clears, might as well red the bottom half and go for red/clears.

all clears definately illegal... cops will get u so fast.

I'm actually thinking of doing this to the tails of my '95 maxima. It's still red/clear, just a little different.
