you will most likely need new struts. i would advise ajustable AGX's or Tokico's. you CAN go on oem struts, but there is a large chance of them blowing out with 6 months of so.

it depends what you like. if you want a nice low even drop but are willing to sacrifice ride, sprints are the best. if you want not such a big drop but better ride than look more into a a spring like eibach or B&G. H&R are also looking real good. look around for yourself and decide which fits your needs best.

the front is much lower than the rear
funny you say that...cause its probably the most uneven drop for the maxima
i think eibach offers the best springs for the 4th gen max
you can pair that up with kyb agx for $330...for adjustability
the tokico illuimna's are $490 like you said...adjustable as well
tokico blues are like $290...not adjustable
kyb gr-2's are about $260 or so...not adjustable either

the adjustable struts/shocks allow you to change the valving of the dampening...meaning you can make them stiff or soft...thats a pro...and the con is the cost.
the normal ones just have one setting...which cannot be changed, but theyr'e cheaper.

All your suspension parts are right here:

Yeah i put sprints on a car and they were way off, front to rear. We even cut a coil and put a 150lb system in the back just to even out the heights. So thats how uneven they really are.
