sticking throttle

sticking throttle
Since I installed my new intake (see thread "New Intake"), I have a problem with the throttle sticking. Not heavily or constantly, but after hard acceleration, the accelerator pedal sticks for a half second or so before letting up. Might it be the tension on the accelerator cable or something? Please advise.

look at the throttle cable under the hood of the car. it is the "inner" of the two cables (closest to the throttle body). check for vertical play in the cable. there should be some. have someone step on the gas pedal while u watch the cable. make sure that when the pedal is fully depressed, the cable pulls back the throttle plate as far as it will go. now after this, go to www.motorvate.ca and look for instructions on how to clean the throttle body. you should notice a difference in how the car feels after cleaning the TB.

Also check the clamps and make sure they aren't in the way of the throttle body cables. When I installed my intake I got a clamp in the way of the cable and on my first WOT run, the clamp wouldn't let the throttle close all the way. Kinda freaked me out at first.
