removing hood struts

removing hood struts
the struts for my hood have gotten to weak so i got new ones, but haven't been able to figure out how to get the old ones off. anyone know how to do this, and do i need a specialized tool? thanks

use a 10 mm (I think) open end wrench and unscrew the bolt at both ends of the old hood strut (on the hood and strut tower). Make sure you support your hood with a broom stick or something.
