Wheel bearing/ wheel bearing hub problems?

Anyone out there have any experience replacing wheel bearings? I know I do. Anyhow, it sounds like my 3rd (yes 3rd) wheel bearing replacement is starting to fail. It's been about 6 months since I last replaced it. I'd give it maybe another couple weeks before it gets so loud I wont be able to hear myself think. At this point I think it may be the wheel bearing hub. Does it sound feasible that the 3 previous replacements have just beaten the hub to death? I can imagine a situation where the whole bearing might be spinning inside the hub, and therefore wearing/tearing the inside of the hub so that any subsequent bearing replacement are doomed to fail over any length of time. Any opinions?

Well I have no experience replacing wheel bearings, but mine is failing as well...

If you leave a wheel bearing unchecked too long, will it wear out the hub?
Mine isnt very loud, I can usually barely hear it, and from the passenger side you can't hear it at all. Sorry to ***** your thread
