5th gen FSTB on 4th gen?

Would a front strut bar from a 5th gen SE fit on a 4th gen (99) GXE?
My friend with a 5th gen said that it will fit, but I wanted to make sure.

I've read that Stillen's 5th gen. fstb doesn't fit a 4th gen properly. Apparently the bar itself rises too much to allow the hood to close right.
