BEST Tire Shine

When you see cars at HIN and other big car shows that have super shiny tires, what brand tire shine are they using? I use a somewhat shiny tire shine, but i want my tires to shine like crazy. What brand shines so good its almost blinding and is not detrimental to the tire?

Meguire's is a thick gel which dries. When you apply multiple coats, the shine continues to increase. It also lasts for weeks

Most tire dressing that creates a nice shine contains silicone, which is a no-no for rubber. If the product advises multiple coats for increased shine, there is almost definitely silicone in the product. It creates a temporary shine while it is speeding up the deteriorating process of the rubber. Not to mention that it attracts dust and other contaminants. A good deep cleaning with a rubber or general purpose cleaner followed by an actual protectant (Lexol Vinylex or 303 Aerospace Protectant) is much better for the rubber. Both contain powerful sunscreens to prevent the "graying" of tires caused by them losing their carbon-black. You can check sites like Autopia and such for more info. I also replied to a link on here about it (forget what forum) about a week ago with a good link about silicone and rubber.
A protectant is for tires, silicone is for implants.

I read a couple weeks back that tire shine products containing petroleum distillates are not good for rubber over time.

That might be true about silicone and petroleum distillates not being good for the rubber but, will it hurt tire that much in the time it is on the car? I thinking that tires last me about three to four years. I have used tire shine on my tires for the Max and on the tires of my last vehicle and have not noticed a huge impact on the rubber. Just my $.02

I use TIRE TINT (forget the brand, a major one) and it shines pretty good.
what's surprised me is how long it lasts!!! It'll shine even after rain
or another wash!!!

anyway, my $0.02,

The Black Magic (the one for lots of purposes/not the one just for tires) works great and it last!

I used to use a silicone-based product while I worked at a car wash, that would leave a nice, deep shine. It would last a while, even through rain. However, my sidewalls have some discoloration in the rubber, which along with information like Dave's, makes me wonder if the silicone is a bad idea. Even if tire life is short, I don't want to do anything to speed up deterioration.

I believe Black Magic is a protectant. It's not quite as impressive looks-wise as the silicone stuff I'd use at the wash but it did the job.

I bought some new tires a few months ago, and they were brown on the first day. What's up with that? (The treads were black, sidewalls brown.)

Any shine will blacken them up, though.
