Worst Maxima Experience @ Mechanic!!!

I went to this mechanic yesterday, They are known for suping up cars and what not, But besides that, I went there to get my car diagnosed with a freind that has a 240. Well one of the guys there had a Civic that had a B16 Turbo. He also had a tight maxima that I seen him roll up in, I heard the Head Mechanic there ask him if he has the Turbo, and then I said are you gonna put it in your Maxima, then he follwed up by No!!! I wouldnt do that to that car, Its too heavy. (I was hurting on the inside) He also told me that hes puting it on the Civic. Then I ask if he is from the forums, He said he didnt know what a forum was. I asked him what he had under his hood, he poped it open for me and I looked. He said its not worth doing anything to this car. I then told him the potential of the Maxima and How it was so under rated by every one. He had a Complete cat back system with no y-pipe and a Weird intake. He didnt even have a Pipe.
Well I went there for my Diagnosis, 2 things came up!!!
1. Cylnder 1 Missfire
2. Knock Sensor Malfunction
I replaced my Spark plugs yesterday, but now I need a new knock sensor!!! But what I wanna know is can there be anything else casuing the Missfire?

Make sure all your coils are plugged in securely and the that leads arent damaged.

Wrap all of the boots in a couple layers of electrical tape. They may be shorting out to the valve cover.

The long part of the coil pack the plugs onto the top of the spark plug. Sometimes the rubber gets degraded and they can spark against the valve cover. Wrapping them in a couple of layers of tape can cure it.

Stick with OEM when getting a new knock sensor. JRNissanParts from this forum has GREAT prices. Also, try www.courtesynissan.com . They give maxima.org peeps 20% off.

You may also just have a bad coil-pack in general. If the problem still persists, go to a junkyard and get one from there, or you can get it new from a dealership.

Don't replace your KS yet, fix your misfire and your KS code will go away.

Double check your coil packs to make sure they are plugged in, etc... Since you said you changed plugs (I missed whether you had the problem before the plug change), check the plug in #1 cylinder to make sure the gap is right (too big and the flame can be blown out, too small and not enough spark). You could even try swapping a different plug in there to see if the misfire follows that plug. You can do the same with the coil. Also, like mzmtg said, your coil boot could be shorting on your valve cover, so electrical tape would work.
Like njmaxseltd said, the KS code is probably due to the misfire. Most of the time, the KS code will go away once the other problem is fixed. Fix the misfire, reset your ECU, then check for codes again. The KS code will probably be gone. If not, then it truly is bad.

Maybe he had to perform a special favor on the mechanic to get the codes, therefore, making it a horrible experience.

I had the problem before this, It comes and goes though, Its really tiking me off, cause when ever im racing it does it, but when im just flooring it for no reason it doesnt!!! The diagnosis costed 60 buks, I dont think my ks is the problem, The missfire makes the KS tiked off, Its like a domino effect
