17 or 18 inch rims
If i were to replace the factory 16 inchers what would be the best 17 or 18 inch rims. Also i like the look of the 5 spoke factory rims, what aftermarket ones look the best (such as the bmw m5 ones?) thanks for the help, also should i do this before lowering the car??
check out this thread for some answers

I would not go larger than 17". First off, increasing rim size will KILL your ride. I already think my ride is pretty harsh with 17" rims. 18" would be kidney jarring.
Plus, 18" tires are very expensive, and there is no proof that 18" rims perform better than 17", at least for our 3000lb FWD Maxima. Think about this way...the BMW 5 series has 17x8 with 235/45/17 tires with its sports package, and that' plenty sticky for a BMW. Can a Maxima ever outhandle a 5-series? Probably not, unless you have coilovers. So, if 17x8 is good enough for BMW, it's good enough for a Maxima too.

Depends on what you're looking for. I opted for the 18's because I felt I could sacrifice a little performance for the looks. Honestly, the 18's look kinda small on the car, but I can't afford 19's. And the ride did get a lot harsher, but that's the kind of ride I like. As for tire prices, it also depends on how wide you go. Tires cost a grip for me and I hope they last me a long time. Tires also tend to wear out a lot faster with 18's as opposed to 17's. If the money ain't no thing, then I say 18's unless you're really picky about the performance thing. BTW, I'm using 245/40/18 tires on my car.

17s are regular for the sports compact people the maxima is not a compact car and it needs bigger wheels
IMO

17 vs 18 inchers - Go with the 17's
17's look good and going higher does impact the ride quality but also 18's and up can dent easily especially if you live in an area with crappy roads. So they can be expensive to constantly replace. - If you go for show and cruise the strip or something similar then go bigger.
17's look way better than the 16 stock and do fit the car nicely.
Only if you're a wheel fanatic will you want more flash.
And Kumhos - are basically designed to look good.
I don't want to step on any toes but..there are better tires out there.
Potenzas, some Yoko's, and even dunlop all beat out the Kumhos. - This opinion is based on the fleet of 400+ cars, several opinions from my Goodyear reps, and NTB experts.
There is nothing wrong with a tire wearing fast as long as it performs. And the Kumhos don't. They're better left to the kid racer civic type with the Kmart exhaust.

I dont know about the kumhos wearing extra fast since i only have 2000 miles on mine. although i have compaired them to the toyo's, good year eagles etc.. and michelin pilots on the mercedes and they feel the same or better, and very much less expensive, i will have to see how they wear.??
21's!!!!
I talked to a guy with 5spoke chrome giovvani(spelling?) 21's yesterday... they looked tight!!! Super low profile tires, especially when you take in to consideration they were on a white escalade w/ PS2, dvd in all the seat headrests and console, had a bar in the back, and had 3 15" JL W6 subs powered by 3 Kicker ZR600's!!! It was amazing, it was some kid in highschool, I met him at the gas station, I could hear him a mile away, it was amazing! He is selling it right now to get a 2002
hehehe
Anyways, the 21's were INCREDIBLe, it made me want to get them!
