wrap for y-pipe

1. Do you folks wrap to flex section?
2. How many feet do we need to wrap a y-pipe?
3. Do I need 1 or 2-inch width wrap.
4. Do I need to buy special glue to glue to the ends of the wrap?

I'm gonna get a wpsd y-pipe. Do you think I should wrap it? That wrap seems expensive.

Only if you want your max to be a little quieter and a slight better performance.

quieter it will be but as in performance it is debated.. also be carefull it can trap water and cause the pipe to rust faster.. but i havent seen that...just heard about it... i want to do it but with other expences i need to focus on things more important... like rims, struts and springs

it wont rust faster..it will actaully extend the life of the pipe.. all exhaust systems rust from the inside out... using the wrap will increase the tempertaure inside the pipe keeping all water vapor after engine combustion stay vapor and not liquid. it will also incrase the velocity of your gas movement because of higher temps. i doubt you will feel a noticeable performance gain but it will extend the life of the pipe and be quieter. if you have extra wrap left over, wrap the cat. it will help on you emissions b/c it will keep it hotter so you have better chance of smog passing. get the 2 inch.. ive seen them on ebay for pretty cheap. look up exhaust or header wrap. hope this helps

it may cause a lil extra oxidation on the surface of the pipe, where we see. thats if you live areas that rains alot and you get enough water on the pipe to actaully keep it from evaporating on contact. but your pipe will be wrap so no one willl see it. but dont worry about a pipe rust from the outside in it will pretty much never happen.
