Looking for the pros and cons of this pipe. I have not read much about them and I am looking at buying one. Thanks.

 

I have had my warpspeed pipe for about 2 yrs and it has held up well...I bought the steel mandrel pipe ....didn't want to drop the extra $$ for ss the performance gains were noticable in power and fuel mileage ...my car has intake (hotair) and y pipe only and my mileage went from 27mpg to 31 mpg on the road...exhaust note changed but with factory cat back you can't hear it over the intake search there is another tread on the y-pipes

 

budget is the new wave on the org. much cheaper, i like mine.

 

go with budget.. its stainless steel.. 10 bux cheaper than the warpspeed alumized steel one. and its already painted black for you!!..

 

I love my warpspeed. The CON that I have was that the freaking thing took forever to arrive at my house after I ordered it. Dallas and the lady at Warpspeed kept giving me the same run-around. I like my Wpspd pipe, but wouldn't recommend it if you don't want to wait an extended period of time. Check the Dealerships and Vendors Forum

 

I am very happy with the performance gain of my WSP Y-pipe. The only complaint I had was the bees in the can/VW Beetle/criquet noise. I say had, because once I wrapped it with header wrap the annoying noise went away . I bought one of their newer pipes, but still had the noise. If I had to do it all over again I would probably get a budget and use the extra money towards another mod. The noise I heard the Budget had was the reason I went with Warpspeed, but I still ended up with the same noise

 

did you wrap the whole pipe..or jsut the flex part. im goona get wrap for my stillen y soon. i wanna wrap teh cat to help lower emissions.

 

ive had my warpspeed y pipe ( aluminized mandrel bent) for several months along with their b pipe with resonator. perfect fit, performs great. to each his own i would try either warpspeed (highly recommended) or cattman performance ( have not tried any of their exhaust products yet)

I noticed gains in power but i had the y pipe and b pipe, and aftermarket muffler all installed the same day.

 

I searched found a cool writeup on it but I wanted to hear from people with the pipe on their car not just opinion. Thanks fellas this helps alot and am buying the pipe from somebody local so I wont have to wait the 4 months. To those that have header wrap on it, would you recommend putting on the wrap when I install it? thanks again.

 

I originally wrapped only the flex section. This got rid of some of the noise but not all. A couple of weeks later I took off the original header wrap on the flex section and wrapped the Y-pipe from just below the O2 sensors all the way back to the catalytic converter. Doing this gave me the results I wanted, nice and quiet. I did not wrap my cat.



The thing is that some people say that they do not have any of the noises that I had, bees in the can/VW Beetle sound. For them there was no need to wrap the Y-pipe. You can take a chance and see if you even have any of the noise and skip the header wrap. I must say that it would be alot easier to wrap the pipe off the car than once it is already installed, this is the reason I only did it from just below the O2 sensors instead of all the way from the front of the pipe, but this amount of wrapping was sufficient to take care of my problem. I bought my header wrap on Ebay for $28 dollars, 50 feet of it.

 

I had probs with WS B-pipe, it was poorly made, bents were incorrect and 2-inches short overall. I had to pay extra $$ for installation issues. I received it in 8-days?.
