Muffler tip banging on bumper

I've been riding with this noise, and it's starting to drive me nuts...I have a gap of maybe 1/8th - 1/4 inch or so between the tip, and the bumper. I am thinking of some custom ways to prevent the sound. I was thinking maybe dynomat if it is fireproof. Any ideas on something fireproof (besides asbestos)that could be utilized in this situation?

1st off, i have a gap and mine never bangs. Why the hell does yours?! bad work in part of the welder?! Your tips shouldnt move, period...If you can physically move your tips with very little effort on your part, take it back to the shop and have them weld in another hangar or something...

do you have a picture ? i had a warpspeed y and b pipe installed and a magnaflow muffler. it was perfect no rattles no nothing. today i go in to have a test pipe installed and the test pipe seemed to be a bit shorter than the cat conv. I took off for a test drive and all was fine. then later got in the car and hard more rattles than a big earthquake.

So went back up there and put the car on the lift. part of the b pipe section was to close and the muffler hanger was hitting a hitch type part. So we removed the hitch, and added an inch or so of length to the b pipe. All of that solved the problem, no rattles now.

In short, you just need someone to look at it and fix the clanging. I could not drive 10 feet with all the noise i was hearing so i can feel your pain.

I think I'll have a bud throw on a couple more hangers..that is a good Idea....my digi cam is on the fritz...It was a POS, but now its a POS that fell off a friends car and hit the ground and now raddles itself..heheheh. I think I could fab something together..the exhaust is supposted to move, and after looking at it I don't think a couple of well placed hangers would not be a bad idea.
