codes 0302 and 0304

p0302 and p0304 are cyl 2 misfire and cyl 4 misfire respectively. If you had OBD1, then 32 and 34 are the EGR and KS. Check your plugs.

I'm pretty sure he's not using a scantool. So 0302 is EGR insufficient or excessive flow detected. Probably means the EGR tube is clogged. 0304 is the bad knock sensor code. The P-codes are generated by scantools. I don't think he's using a scan tool.

I am not using a scan tool.
Are there any on-line sites that have instrutions to repair these problems?

Use the search button on the top of the page. Type in "EGR Clean" and "Knock Sensor Replacement". You will get a lot of answers.

Newbie here but how do you guys get those diagnostic codes? Is there any device I should buy to read those codes? What's the scan tool you guys were talking about? Just curious.
