Venom 400

Anyone have any experience with the Venom 400 performance control module? I am looking into getting one or something similar. Any recommendations (besides an ECU upgrade?)

Don't get it, it's useless specially if u have an 5 speed basically what it does is change the point where your car kick into OD (auto)so basically makes your engine think u're pressing the gas harder. Total waste of money specially if u're stick

I have the venom 400 on my 98 5speed. It does help but its nothing major. You can tell when it kicks in, it gives you a little more pep at higher RPM's...but its not going to put you back in the seat. It also seemed to help with the low end lag that my intake(injen CAI) was creating. Overall I am happy I put it in my Max.

No, I have not. The only thing I am going off of is how the car felt before and after.

The only thing that the Venom 400 does is modify the TPS signal. If you have the throttle open 50%, it tells the ECU that the throttle is open 70%. Obviously, if it's open 100%, it can't tell the ECU anything. This is why it shows no HP gains on a dyno.

The cheap way to get the same effect is to just push the gas pedal down more.
