Jet Performance Chip

Anyone have any experience with the Jet Performance Chip Re-Map? Seems like a good deal and I know they work for domestics, but don't have any experience with imports and specifically our beloved Max. Thanks...

I have read many threads on here, and most say the the Jet ECU should not be considered, and that it does nothing for the Max. I have read good reviews for both the Jim Wolf ECU and the Gforce ECU. There is a good deal going on right now for the Gforce ECU on the for sale forum. I will be getting a ECU in the future, have to fix the A/C first though, can't have the little ones in the heat. If it was not for the A/C thing I would of probably gone with the Gforce .

I have the jet ecu upgrade which I use w/o nitrous. The gains are not that great. Basically you get what you pay for. I would say the gains felt like 5-7 horses . Pulls a bit harder

Did you have to inform them what modifications you did to the engine when you had your ECU reprogrammed by JET? like intake, y-pipe etc...

Jet has dyno charts that claim 15+ horse gain. A couple of our customers bought it and were pleased with the gains. Guess thats not bad for a $400 piece.

I wouldn't trust JET's website, so be wary if you try and buy one for a 99, I would suspect you will find it doesn't work JET probably just didn't do their research and figured since 95-99 have the same body and same engine that the ECUs are interchangable between all years, they arent.

As for the gains 15hp is a crock of ****. Not even JWT and GForce give those gains, more like about 8-10 with those 2, and I had the JET ECU for a time, and gains weren't as apparent as with my JWT. I'd say JET gains are more on the order of 5hp. The JET ECU made the car pull a little harder in the midrange, but my JWT pulls more.

Try finding a used GForce ECU instead of the JET, that would be my recommendation.

Until I see a dyno, JET is not to be trusted.

Cefiro, at what point in your mods did you get the Jet? I am just wondering what they programmed for (y-pipe, intake, exhaust??). Also, would you recommend it? Thanks...

Thanks cefiro...in your opinion, is it worth the upgrade? also, did you get another ECU to have them program? i was under the impression that they programmed the stock one you sent in.

look in the for sale section. Cheston has them listed for $380 shipped. You need to get a 96 ecu.

K I have found his TECHTOM ECU but its says only for 95 / 96 I have a 97 ECU( hence 97 gxe) . Will is still work to send it to him? Or do I have to get a New ECU . Can anyone tell me if i can use ANY ECU WITH my 97 stock ECU. I want a G Force or JWT, but I dont want to have to buy a 95 / 96 ECU unless thats the only way.

Get a 96 gxe ecu. the transmission has to be the same and make sure you get the right spec(cali or fed).

Can they remove the speed limiter and/or raise the rpm limit?

You can eliminate your speed limiter by cutting a wire. As far as JET being able to raise your speed limiter im not sure since I dont have the mevi and didnt want my rpm limit raised.

i know about that mod ( i have a fields fuel controller doing that for me), but since i'm planning on getting my ECU reprogrammed, i figure they can do it.
