Stock tires... lug wrench...
Hey all,
I believe my brakes need to be replaced and probably the rotors too! (ugghh 116k mi) I should have checked them way before this.
But anywho, I went to start loosening the lug nuts with the provided lug wrench, and the d@mn thing started to round off the lugs. Needless to say, I immediately stopped. Then I broke out my socket set and found one that fit the lug snuggly(sp?) I then proceeded to turn as hard as I could and they wouldn't move at all. Any suggestions?
My dad told me just to take it up to the shop and let them do all the work, but I'm trying to save some cash and do the work myself. I've read up on replacing brakes/rotors on motorvate.ca and I have a Haynes manual and read that also. But I just can't get the d@mn wheel off. Is there maybe some unlock spray or something that would loosen them up a little? And for you flamers I AM turning the correct way! heh (lefty loosey righty tighty, I know...its corney!)
Thanks,
bluemaxdriver4

Make sure the socket is a tight fit, and use a breaker bar. If you don't have a breaker bar, put a jack-handle over a normal socket wrench. That'll give you the leverage you need to get those things off.
