Unorthodox Racing Under Drive Pulley installed today ! Gains ?

I had an unorthodox racing underdrive pulley installed today. Was wondering where the HP is added? I think I could tell a bit of difference in the higher rpms of each gear. how about some feedback..the car feels a tiny but faster but it was so hot outside today... its really hard to say.

feedback ?

On my 99 SE auto they were an improvement in low end. I'm having them installed in a few weeks on my new 98 5-speed, hopefully they'll be good for a tenth but I doubt it!

as far as I know the UDP does NOT ADD HP. it "frees up" HP....meaning you are getting more power to the wheels more efficiently. In this respect I have heard estimates of 8hp to the wheels.

And yes it helps down low in the RPMs. I think it does more for AUTOs than 5spds but its still a good mod I think. Well the one I got is a good mod. $100 brand new is a good deal. I don't know what you payed for the Unorthodox...I am guessing 200+....mine is supposed to be lighter too!!! hehe.

my butt-dyno has never felt any HP increases.

I can just tell that the engine "revs" felt much more smoother.

should we reset the ecu after each mod ? still unclear to me, or does the ecu figure the changes out anyways

what are the differences between yours(definative) and his, aside from price? i know some people have had problems with rvm's with oil leaks, something to do with a metal ring around part of the pulley? have you had any thing go wrong?

thanks

there is a power loss from your engine through all the tranny stuff and to the wheels.15-20%. the lighter pulley just makes that power tranfer more efficeint. you prolly wont get any gain in peak hp. but it helps in the low rp range because its lighter and allows you to rev up faster. should be a few hp there in the low. not much top end gains cause when the pully is already spinning that fast, you dont need that much force to keep it spinning. when its at a stop or moving slow u need more force to get it going.
