Nissan Maxima: Performance Stages, whats the order ?

Hey was looking in the Stillen catalog today. Was looking over the different stages for the 4th gen maxima. My question is where would the JWT ECU upgrade go ? Where would it make most sense? I will list what they have:

Stage 1: Hi Flow Intake
Stage 2: Catback Exhaust (b pipe and muffler)
Stage 3: Underdrive Pulley
Stage 4: Ignition upgrade
Stage 5: Y Pipe
Stage 6: Aluminum Flywheel
Stage 7: CAMS
Stage 8: Supercharger
Stage 9: Extrude Honed Intake ( what tha ? is that ?)

This looks pretty good to me, but where is the ECU upgrade or MEVI ? I would like to see an accepted Stages List to kind of give me something to go by. Thanks

Stillen made that up as a guide to their own products. They do not sell the JWT ecu or the MEVI, so they dont list them.

There's no real standard list of "stages."

Please read the FAQ at the top of the forum and use the SEARCH feature to look up more info on what mods are recommended first.

If I could travel back in time...this would be my order:

1. CAI..............................Injen
2. Ypipe............................Warpspeed
3. Bpipe (keep stock muffler).......Warpspeed
4. MEVI.............................groupbuy
5. UDP..............................Unorthadox

*instead of ignition upgrade: Fresh NGKs, Redline Fuel Injector Cleaner, OEM Fuel filter, Throttle Body Cleaner, Clean off Ground Points in the engine, and Tighten Throttle cable.

I would go in this order, personally:

1. Y-pipe
2. Intake and midpipe (bought coincidentally with intake - want the growl).
3. B-pipe or full exhaust (depending on your noise preferences)
4. MEVI
5. Sell all that shiat and get a turbo

Handling:
1. Springs and struts (I have Progress/KYB)
2. RSB (if I didn't get the springs and struts)
3. Wider tires (I went 18s - I like looks to go with my speed)
4. Front strut tower brace
5. Poly-bushings and underbody bracings (I really don't know SFA about these, lol).

Looks:
1. Tint
2. Rims
3. Kit
4. Huge Motherf*cking spoiler so I can hang with the Civic and J-body guys and not look like a loser.
5. A fine assortment of ho's paid to hang out around my car whenever I park. (check that, this should be my #1 mod, performance, handling, or looks!).

Mike

You can put anything from exhaust to a supercharger out there but its worth nothing unless you remember about the fuel system. I think that's should be step on your list.

That list of "stages" is just a bunch of bs.. don't base anything you buy on it. Just get an intake and a Y-pipe and see how the car feels, after that look into MEVI and an ECU. A cat-back is for sound mostly, so dont expect huge gains.. it's practically a cosmetic mod as far as im concerned.

My answer make up your own stages, there is no such thing as stages. If someone made up stages they must have been bored. What do you want or like is the question? read the FAQs like Ben just told you.

What could you do to the fuel system besides bigger fuel pump and injectors. Doesnt really seem needed to me unless your boosted.
I think the "normal" first mods done are intake, y pipe and exhaust. Then suspension and more dramatic upgrades like Ecu,MEVI,..NOS, s/c or turbo.
