Big weekend for the max!!!!! max goes 7 - 0.

just got back from rochester, MN today and there was lots of cars that cruise down there. My friend and I cruised around and found a couple races. They took us to an old abandoned country road to race.

Race #1

Dodge Neon with exhaust. nothing to brag about.

#2

2001 5-speed Honda Accord Coupe V6 w/intake.
This one I was worried about since these come with 200hp stock. we raced to 90 and then hit the hazards. I got a car and a half lead off the launch and stayed there until 90. dead even the whole way.(won by car and a half )

#3

this was the next night and someone in a new v6 eclipse pulls up to me and says, "heard you were fast" I guess word gets around. so we went back to the same spot. he had a 5-speed and full exhaust. took him off the launch and I ended up beating him by one car.

#4

then the eclipses friend decides he wants to run me. this one I was excited for. he had a 96 Ford Mustang GT. 5-speed, only thing done was new gears. off the line, as expected, he raped me by about 2 car lengths. right when I hit third though I was gaining fast at about 85, I go into 4th and pass him pretty fast. hit the hazards. i won. sad sad sad. 3.0L v6 4-door family sedan takes down 4.6L V8 2-door sports coupe. by far the best race ive ever had.

#5, 6 and 7...nothing special...honda civic w/ exhaust, stock bmw 5251, 98 stock auto maxima. I met up with the mustang later and he told me to pop the hood cause he didnt belaive that all I had was an intake and a y-pipe. he turned out to be pretty cool though. tried to race another pimped out civic but he said, "do you think im some kind of idiot man, thats a maxima."

rochester has a lot more respect for maximas now. ps, please dont delete as racing all was on weekend

Well, the accord V-6 never came with manuals until 2003, so it was an auto. And anyways, nice kills, i just got home from shattering two cars, nothing to write home about, a civic fully kitted and a 240SX...

nice kills, those mustangs are quick off the line. the accord was def. auto if it was V6. Figured the BMW would have given you a run, was it older?

Nope...4cyl/5spd or 6cyl/Auto in America. IIRC, you could get a 6cyl with a 6spd in Japan a few years earlier than here.

Nope... don't see anywhere in that article where they claim the V6 came with a 5spd.

I've heard of people modding V6 accords (tranny swap), but I've never actually seen one.

oh yeah.. i missed the 4cyl part... no wonder the 150hp figure seemed fishy.

Damn Honda... the 8+ trim levels gets confusing
