energy suspension bushings

I have been considering changing the control arm bushings on my 98 se to the energy suspension ones. I went to a local suspension shop where the guy strongly recommended that I avoid the energy suspension bushings because thay are built for the track and not for the street (something about the metal inside eating away at the polyurethane) and that within a year they will be worn out and I would have to chage them again. Is this true? How long have they lasted for those of you who have put them in?

I have put them in and then took them out but it's not true, There awsome just a very BIG hassle and expensive to put them in unless you do it yourself and it's going to make your ride rougher because there's no bending on the rubber, Poly's are alot stiffer.
