Car has a very slight tremble/shake at about 65-70mph
guys...
my 1997 Maxima SE at highway speeds of 65-70mph has a very slight tremble/shake on the sterring wheel/car and is very annoying, car has new tires & balancing (1 week old) all the rims are dent free., front struts are fairly new, alignment is good.... i'm lost, what can it be?

welcome to the Max noob...MANY people have this issue. its a 4th gen Max thing...some have tried EVERYTHING to fix it with no luck...you might try to go either 10mph slower or faster if it annoys you that much.

I have the exact SAME problem. Happened right after I replaced my stock tires with another brand of tires. At 65-75 mph the steering wheel vibrates. Perhaps its the brand of tires that cause this. I remember the mechanic steering me away from certain brands telling me they might cause vibration. I don't know if this is likely but if you tried everything else it might be a possibility. I have all season continentals on now..and they suck..should of stayed with the original Goodyears. Let us know if you tried something that worked!

well i know that with the stockers (Continetial's) that were quite worn, the car did the same exact vibration. And now i put brand new Nitto NT450's in 215-55-16 and had them balanced, and all of a sudden i have this damn vibration @ 65/70mph.... the cars alignment is good and the tires are balanced, i'm starting to think it's the wheel bearings.

Get your tires balanced at a different place. I had the same problem on my old car and I took it to 4 different places to balance my tires properly and finally got it right. Since then I always go to that place.
It's not the old balancing machines that's the problem, it's the retards that work in the repair shops. Here's another example - the other day I took my wife's Toyota Paseo to a shop to get the oil changed and they changed it all right. But the dumb a55es put 5 qts. of oil in it!!! Paseo takes about 3.1 qts.!!!! They also inflated all 4 tires to 35 psi. Paseo's label says 26 psi !!!
My advice = change the shop, do the balance somewhere else, preferably at a place that has http://128.242.141.111/

Since it happened when you mounted the new tires, I highly suspect that it is one of three things: wheels out of true or round, wheel balance, or not-so-round tires. Some times newer or more agressive tires can accentuate an existing wheel issue, sometimes they are just not round.
To check it out, you need someone who can check all three issues and give you numbers, not "It's OK". Also, tire places are famous for not understanding how to mount the wheels in the machine for balancing and for using worn equipment. On 99% of cars it doesn't matter but some cars (the Max) are very sensitive to tire and wheel issues.
So, here you go: find a place near you with a Hunter GSP 9700 near you with this URL:http://www.gsp9700.com. The Hunter tech will know how to check things correctly and will tell you exactly what is going on. I'll bet you will be satisfied - or at least know what the issue is - when they are done. At the very least, you will know for certain if it is not an issue with these components.

Its your CV joints going bad, my car started doing the vibe thing when I went over 65mph ..I tought it was my wheels but a few weeks later I found out it was the cv joints trun your wheel and if it clicks then its your cv joints ..trust me on this ,,when they start to go bad you wont feel them all the time vibrating then when the cv joints get worst the vibrating gets worst
