Q about oem springs

I'm asking this question on behalf of a friend with a '95 GXE. He wants to know if it's possible to install '97 SE oem springs in his model. The background story is long so I won't take up anyone's time unnecessarily with it here.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks in advance.

Why would that be? (btw, he's not concerned about the 4x4 look.)

replace springs n shocks n struts for an SE like ride, i dont see how it will be any higher cuz that would mean the SE would be higher than the GXE and GLE and i dont believe thats so

I already know SE spring rate is higher than GXE & GLE spring rate. But specifically, can you tell me if the diameter of the spring coils and height of springs between SE vs GXE are identical or not?

they should fit just fine. i have a set of 1999 SE springs on my 1996 GLE. it didn't make it any higher, but it is a bit stiffer. they fit was fine... it was a direct swap
