Best suspension/noise

Hello all,

My front suspension makes noise when I turn the steering. I believe it's the strut mounting bearings. While I'm taking it apart, I would like to improve the handling. What setup would you guys recommend for the following:
- I would like about 1.5 inches drop or less
- I would like a little bit stiffer ride but I am not doing auto-x
- I would like to get a proven "kit" as I do not want to have to manufacture any parts
- I have stock wheels and not planning on upgrading

I am ready to change the shocks and the springs so any list of parts that should be changed at the same time would be apreciated.

Thank you for any help you can provide as I am lost in the sea of choices,
SC

Hm, Tokico Illuminas (struts) and some H&R or Maxspeed springs should be good for what you are after.

you could also get KYB GR2 struts if you dont need to adjust the rate of the struts, and are looking to save money

Thank you very much. I read somewhere that the KYBs are really harsh when they are cold. Anybody can confirm?

Thanks again,

This is indeed a great community... great people with great knowledge. I will then do my homework to find the best prices for Tokico Illuminas (struts) and H&R or Maxspeed springs.
One last question: Are there anything I should change whjile I'm at it? Strut, spring, bearings... Anything I should add to the list that should be changed because of wear?

Thanks again,
SC

tweaked,

Presently, I'm going through the identical mod to my '95. The setup is KYB/AGX, Progress springs, KYB dust boots, Nissan front strut mounts, Progress RSB, Courtesy Nissan FSTB. I worked with the parts department at Courtesy Nissan to order the necessary seals (be sure to get the replacement bushing for the front sway bar too).

Next thing to do is upgrade the brakes cause now you need to STOP!

I'm about to get a new suspension too but the Illuminas are too expensive for me right now so I'll probably go with GR-2/Maxspeed setup. I'm going to get the following done so I don't have to worry about it:
Dust Boots
Strut Mounts
Strut Bearings
Wheel Bearings
Spring Insulators (so your springs don't make the annoying sound)

Where's the cheapest place to buy this stuff? I'm going with OEM wheel bearings, but should I buy OEM or KYB for the strut stuff? Who sells spring insulators for cheap?

Thanks!
