Driving for 8hrs at 3000rmp

will i have any problems in the future if i do this? will this do damage to the engine in a couple of years down the road?

what about 3500rpm-4000rpm for 8hrs straight? (its probably not the best idea, but i just wanna see what u guys say)

wtf kind of question is this?

that's the best kind of miles you can ever get on a car (consistant highway driving).

60 is right on 2k, 70 is about 2.5k, 80 is a little over 3k, and when im goin 90+ im not lookin for the RPM's... i'm lookin for cops!

For a long trip, it's nice to give the engine a break every 3-4 hours but i've done 900miles with only 1 gas stop (not on my Maxima, though) before.

reving 3000rpm+ probably won't give u good milage... driving below 3000rpm will give u better milage =X

ur engine won't hurt... it's capable of doin so. ur engine will jus be spinnin faster and waste more gas tat's all.

I wasn't at any exact RPM since cruise cuts out after 95 or so but I did run through all but 2 gallons at about 110 without any trouble. After about an hour or so, 110 actually starts to feel slow.

well i've run the engine on for 14h 38 mins and travelled just under 800 miles and yes 14hrs+ of not turning it off (deserted self sevice gas stations rock!) and in that time i had the thing floored at 6k for 40 (20 each way) miles uphill climb in 2nd.. with the ac on. in other words you will be ok.

Two weeks ago, my car was loaded up with 3 guys and luggage. 80+ MPH (about 3,000 RPM's) for 5 hours straight, A/C blasting too. Car got 23 MPG

As Matt said, thats what their supposed to do.
