s13 sr20det for max 5spd?

Should I sell my s13 sr20det for a 5 spd max and hook that up? I love my car dont get me wrong, but I have always like the max 4th gen of course. Can anybody that has driven both tell me if it is worth it. How does the max handle when it is lowered and has good tires? I know that max performs good with I/y/e, but is it worth getting rid of my s13 sr20det.

Keep the 240. Unless you need a big backseat and trunk. If you need to haul people and stuff the max is a good choice, but it's not as fun as a rwd car...especially one with a SR20DET. If you got LSD, even more reason to keep your S13.

keep your s13.. i love that car..if you got a real det motor in there.. keep it for sure.. the max gets pretty fast, but even hooked up on suspension stuff, it wont handle like your s13. and with your sr20det, your fast anyway, its an awesome motor.

Only reason I can see switching is for the extra room. If you in a situation that you need a car for work(ie; clients) or your starting a family then I would understand going to a Maxima. If you just looking for something else to mod, I think you will be disapointed.

I would just think going from a RWD, 2 door, turbo, 50/50 weight distubuted car, with a ton of aftermarket support. To a FWD, 4-door family sedan(that happens to have a great engine), with limited a limited aftermarket, would be a step down.

You must be crazy! Keep the 240 and forget about the Max. The Max is a great car but it's no RWD sportscar with a high boost turbo motor. I used to own a 240sx and I really miss that car. Keep the 240 you'll be much happier.

i think your question is answered.. we all love our max's...but again..an s13 is in a differeent class for modding.it can be a track monster, a drift monster, an autox owner. keep it man. when u get a wifey n kids, buy yourself a maxima and youll be happy.

All you guys that used to have 240's... where'd they go?! There aren't any for sale in my area.

And pwhite, if you want to trade for a day to see what a Maxima is like, PM me. I live in Houston, but in a week I'm driving to Canada with a friend of mine, and we would honestly make a detour to stop by and futz around with our cars for a while.

VQ30DE will try to find you and kill you...

I'm already getting your personal info and sending out a contract for your head

I think what you meant is that it's like trading a Skyline GT-R for a Cima or something of that sort

sorry for not replying for a while, but I do love my car dont get me wrong and it is a total sleeper. BUT as much as turbo's can be good, just wait for a hot day when it doesnt boost the way you want it to. Turbo's are cool, but I would love to hook up a max just because they are great cars in my opinion.

Dont get me wrong though, I have an s13 sr20det fmic, bov, profec A, hks hi power exhaust, etc. And anybody willing to want to meet up, I will gladly meet up if you wanna let me drive your car, I'll let you drive mine. But it has to be a modded max, no just intakes or anything. I live in pittsburgh, pa by the way.

My car does handle so good and all I have is a 2.2 inch drop and tokico shocks/struts. I would hate to see how good my car handled with more suspension work. Plus my car is really quick, but it dissapoints me at times due to lag and temperature/humidity. NA cars seem to have more go, well until I hit my boost. But the sound of the max is soooo nice too.

I think the general concencus is to keep the s13, and I agree. The Maxima just won't handle like an s13, stock the weight distribution of a maxima is like 65/35 ... But if anyone knows how to move 400 pounds from the front of the car to the rear, pm me

You guys are funny...they're totally different cars, but i personally would take a 5 spd max se over a 240 anyday.....sure u can throw a sr20det in there...but what if u threw a turbo in a max? I would have my money on the max ( i would know as i have had both cars). The maxima is a much higher class than the 240...sure theres no RWD and the whole doughnut and drifting factor to come into play, but come on, this aint friggin japan where people drift left and right anyway. A s13 also aint the best lookin car either...u can get any car and make it fast, but can it look good too?? Not to sure how far youd go with the s13. Dont get me wrong, the s13 is a bada$$ car for racing, but nothing more. Id go with a 4th gen 5spd and work with that; I KNOW you wont be dissapointed.

BTW - who said a maxi cant handle like a 240?? I had some coilovers on mine and the SOB handeled better than my 240 with a eiback/agx setup.

My 2 cents.

Now thats the kind of input I was expecting on a maxima board.

I do love my car, but I do want to drive a 5 spd max, if anybody does wanna meet and we can switch, I would be willing.

I had a S14 that I got rid of recently. Two totally different cars, i guess it depends on what you want. The max isnt a slow car, it wont ever handle like a RWD though. I just wasn't able to sacrifice my comfy interior and room for five in exchange for sporty looks and better handling....just my 2 cents.
