Dynos: USIM vs. MEVI and SAFC

I recently dynoed to see how much power I gained from all of my mods and was somewhat disappointed by the result.
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....hreadid=233883

My first dyno was done in December of 2000 in 45 degree weather.
163.6 hp @ 5200rpm and 183 tq @ 4400rpm
---JWT Pop Charger
---Custom 2.25" catback exhaust
---18x8 Enkei NT-03s

I was happy with the results, and I knew that my 18s were hurting me some.

My next dyno was the disappointing one:
168.51 hp @ 5800 rpm and 179.97 tq @ 4500 rpm
SAE corrected 99.3 F, CF=1.02, 29.68 in.hg, Humidity 44%

I gained some peak horsepower from the VI, but I lost a considerable amount of torque across the midrange. I also added more mods besides the VI, so overall I felt like I should have been in the ~185hp range. The above hp was even after I tuned with my AFC to gain some hp in the midrange.
---JWT Hybrid
---Variable Intake Manifold (MEVI)
---Warpspeed mandrel Ypipe
---Unorthodox Racing UDP
---Walbro 255lph HP fuel pump
---Apexi SAFC II
---1 step colder plugs

The good:
The VI smoothed out my torque curve considerably.
The dynos were done on different Dynojets, so there's probably some variablilty there.

The bad:
I probably lost torque from the colder plugs, 18s, and possibly even the 2.25" exhaust (especially with nitrous).

Any comments welcome.

The colder plugs definitely hurt you, a lot.

Tt appears that the S-AFC is useless on an N/A car. That's good to know. As far as the plugs, yeah, they will hurt.

Yeah I really didn't need the SAFC too much even though I had a Walbro (5-6psi higher fuel pressure than stock). I mainly got it for safety with the nitrous, but it does have useful features for autocrossing

that walbro is going to make you run rich.. and those colder plugs are going to drop you about 10 - 15 hp

I can graph rpm and throttle % versus time using the graphing monitor. I haven't gotten to use it yet, but using the graphs with my in car camera mount should really help me fine tune my runs. I love autocrossing, but everything happens pretty quickly and so much of it is by feel. Now I have some numbers so I can see how hot I was coming into a corner, etc.

The Walbro really didn't make me run that rich even though I was at 40psi at idle and 50psi at WOT without a FPR. I knew I would lose some with the colder plugs, so now I guess I need to dyno with stock heat range.
