Brakes sqealing...but only after startup

Brakes sqealing...but only after startup

I haven't had a problem with noise on my brakes, but slowly, they have developed a high pitched screech. It reminds me of the sound of a paper clip scratching against metal. And after a few minutes of stopping and going, the sound goes away. It is only apparent on cold startup.

Are these those indicators that my brakes are wearing down? I have Porterfields on right now.

check which wheel by rolling down windows as you drive. listen good b/c u may have a fozen caliper. many get em. i got a frozen ones on my max right now on the back. it sweels here and there, but i can live with it for right now.

But the sound goes away after driving, consistently. Is there any other way to check for sure if there is a frozen caliper?

first find out WHICH one or side its coming from then drive slow and roll down each window as you hear it and find out WHICH one it is. then remove and TRY to compress with a autozone brake compressor.

yes mine goes away too at higher speeds.

If it's frozen, wouldn't the car pull to one side? Secondly, what other symptoms do frozen calipers have?

Is there any other explanation for the noise I mentioned above? The noise just doesn't go away at higher speeds either. Once the car is warmed a little and the brakes have be depressed once or twice, everything is fine.

No i probably wouldnt pull at all.
symotoms? sqeeking when goin real slow and hardly depressed pedal.

could be the rust you shinin off too though.

Is your car exposed to water or mist when parked?? Say, from sprinklers?

mine did the same thing. Rear caliper frozen.
